Nutritionist to the UK’s movie star, fashion and celebrity set, Ravenshear combined twenty years of clinical experience and scientific research into her first book, The Human Being Diet (HBD). Initially published in 2018, the second edition has been fully updated for republication in 2026.
HBD is a distillation of Ravenshear’s years of work and experience as a registered nutritional therapist in London. She earned a glittering reputation as one of the UK’s best known and loved practitioners – famed for her scientific approach to alleviating clients’ chronic weight, digestive, metabolic, and skin problems. She paired practical evidence-based advice with psycho-neuro-immunology, which is the science of the mind/body connection. The combination has been wildly successful, as demonstrated by the myriad testimonials from her readers and clients.
In 2023 she relocated to Palm Beach Florida, where she continues to write. Ravenshear has been featured on TV and podcasts in the US, and has been written about in the UK press, including The Times and Sunday Times, Daily Mail, Tatler, Vogue, and the Telegraph. She was a columnist for the Sunday Telegraph Magazine’s Day on a Plate, and has written for numerous magazines and newspapers, including British Vogue.
Due to popular demand The HBD Club was launched in 2025. It’s an online membership club for HBD fans and followers providing a safe, supportive and motivational space which is hosted on the specialist community app, Circle.

- ‘The remarkable results are incontrovertible’ – Telegraph
- ‘She’s far too nice, and too English, to brag, but then it soon becomes clear that the nutritionist Petronella Ravenshear doesn’t need to. She has the facts and figures that will do the bragging for her, file upon file of body composition measurements from (anonymous) clients, which bear testimony to dramatic – and long-lasting – weight-loss.’ – Anna Murphy, Telegraph
- ‘Petronella’s Human Being Diet is founded on robust and accessible science combined with a lifetime of clinical experience. I have personally embraced the HBD philosophy together with my wife, and I have since enjoyed watching many of my colleagues in our Cardiology department adopt it too. The effect it has had on myself and those around me has led me to recommend the HBD to an increasing number of my Cardiology patients with universally positive results.’ – Dr Mike Seddon, Consultant Cardiologist
