Gem Bazaar grew out of a shared passion for jewellery and India between husband and wife team Emma and Stephen Plunkett. The stars of the show are the gemstones. Our stones are known as semi precious but these days all gemstones are considered precious since they are all rare and their supply is limited. Nothing complements a woman’s skin like a gemstone – an exquisite fragment of colour and light frozen in time and space. Over the centuries gemstones have become associated with certain healing properties, one of the many reasons women love them. These richly coloured gemstones are set in recycled .925 sterling silver and 1- 2.5 microns of 18k gold vermeil to create glamorous pieces with collections ranging from contemporary to classic to vintage. Sustainability Statement: Gem Bazaar only uses recycled silver for all the jewellery, along with adorable and vibrant upcycled silk sari bags. Over the pandemic, new partnerships have been forged to design from the UK, to keep air travel to a minimum. The next target is to use recycled paper for the pillow boxes. Gem Bazaar is keenly aware of the need to innovate to keep every area of the business as green as can be.
