MARCO PIERRE WHITE FUNDRAISER AT THE PEAR TREE: A Day of Delights and Inspiration!

Pear Tree Inn, Whitley

15/07/2011

The picturesque Pear Tree Inn at Whitley was transformed into a hub of joy and inspiration, all thanks to the remarkable Major Kate Philp and the culinary genius of Marco Pierre White. This fundraiser, supported by Wiltshire Life and in aid of The Soldiers’ Charity, brought together the community for an afternoon of delightful surprises.

It was the most beautiful day with hundreds of guests enjoying delicious canapés, indulging in the delicious cream teas, and sipped on Marco’s signature pear bellinis. Marco Pierre White, the renowned Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur was on hand to host us and to sign copies of his book.

The highlight of the day was Major Kate Philp, an ambassador for The Soldiers’ Charity, who shared her incredible journey of triumph over adversity. Despite losing a limb in Afghanistan, Major Kate was preparing to embark on an extraordinary adventure – a walk to the South Pole with Prince Harry, in support of Walking for the Wounded. Her determination and resilience left everyone in awe.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, heartfelt stories, and a generous raffle that included a stay at one of Marco’s inns. The proceeds from Marco’s book signing all went to the charity.
