The Big Curry Party

The Guildhall, Salisbury was the magnificent venue on October 14th for The Big Curry Party held in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.  Hosted by The Right Worshipful The Mayor of the City of Salisbury Councillor Derek Brown OBE, the evening raised over £20,000. This money makes such a vital difference to our service men, women and families, so many of whom live and work in this county and the Charity was profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support it received from the sponsors and guests on the night.   It was a hugely fun and successful evening, full of colour and entertainment.

The scene was set with a sparkling champagne reception offered by Amanda Newbery of The Chapel Night Club and the guests then moved into the Guildhall which had been transformed into the world of exotic colour and light.  The exquisite menu was provided by Anokaa, flowers by Paloma Lily, delicious wines by Cambridge Wine Merchants and refreshing beer by Kingfisher Beer. The guests were treated to a fascinating talk by General Sir Nick Carter, Chief of the General Staff and then royally entertained by the bewildering  artistry of Britain’s Got Talent winner, Richard Jones, who had so kindly taken time out of his heavy schedule to support the Charity.  The evening closed with a spirited auction kindly run by William Grant of Fox Grant the local village, country and equestrian estate agents.
