Torie True is the author of Chilli & Mint and Seven Kitchens: A Journey Through India’s Culinary Heritage, a member of the Guild of Food Writers, and a Great Taste Awards judge. She cooks, teaches and writes about Indian home cooking shaped by family kitchens, travel and time. Over thirty years ago she began learning to cook with spices from relatives, home cooks, chefs and journeys across India, and for more than a decade has taught Indian home cooking in the UK — often beginning with a spice walk in Tooting to root the food in place and culture. Her books demystify cooking with spices, are easy to follow and, importantly, they work. She acts as a bridge between East and West.
